This guide is still under construction.
Current Version: V1.0

Region to Region Travel, or R2R for short, is one of the newest innovations added to the Orange Islands. Through it, you can travel to any region you'd like to, whether it be just across the sea to Zeralis or miles and miles north to Sinnoh.

The Basics

When traveling from region to region, there are two different ways you can adventure in your new region, and a different set of requirements for each way:

R2R Types
Fresh StartContinued Adventure
DescriptionIn this mode, all of your Pokémon from any previous regions you've traveled to are stored within your PC, and you start fresh, hence the name.In this mode, you can use any (or all) of your previous Pokémon as you travel through new regions.
RequirementsMust have reached or passed Mikan IslandMust have reached or passed Navel Island
New Starter?YesNo
Access to Previous Pokémon? When you have a Pokémon from your new region that is the same level or more as the Pokémon you want to withdrawFull Access
Gym Leader/Event Levels?DefaultSet to Match (see below for details)

Please note that once you've entered a region and selected a mode, you cannot change your mind. However, the ferries that run in between regions only run on the weekends, so if you don't catch them then, then you're out of luck! Additionally, the ferries only travel to select spots in each region, which are listed below:

Ferry Locations
RegionLocations
Orange IslandsMikan Island, Navel Island, Mandarin Island North
ZeralisZeela City (only to Mandarin Island North)
KantoVermilion City
JohtoOlivine City
HoennSlateport City, Lilycove City
SinnohCanalave City

The first time you're traveling to any given region, the ferry will drop you off at the region's first location (Pallet Town in Kanto, for example). After that, you will be dropped at the region's port city.

Continued Adventure Battling

In Continued Adventure Mode, you can travel through any region you want using any Pokémon you have. But in order to actually make this challenging, opposing teams in gym challenges and events have been beefed up to match yours, and a special formula has been implemented to calculate their levels:
Continued Adventure Level Formula

The average level of any opposing team must equal the level of the highest-leveled Pokémon on your team. For example, if the strongest Pokémon on your team is a level 40 Tsunamic, and the opponent has five Pokémon, their levels might be 38, 39, 40, 41, and 42, because the average of those levels is 40.

This formula can call for a team where all of the Pokémon are the same level as your strongest Pokémon, or it can call for a team where the strongest Pokémon is five (or even ten!) levels higher than yours. That way, no matter how hard you train, you'll always be in for a fight.

The Trainer Passport

In your profile, you have a section called the Trainer Passport. This post details your badges and farthest location every region, so that when you move around, you know where to resume when you return to a region you've left. Additionally, this section also details what mode (Fresh Start or Continued Adventure) you've chosen for each region you've been to. Make sure that this information always stays up to date, because without it, you cannot travel from region to region!

The International Battle Frontier
This section of the guide and of R2R itself is still under construction.

Rather than being forced to fund individual facilities, all seven of the current Pokémon League host nations have banded together to construct the International Battle Frontier (or IBF for short). The IBF hosts seven different facilities, each headed by a Frontier Brain from a different region. In order to gain access to the IBF, you must have a complete set of badges from any of the seven Pokémon Leagues.

However, as the International Battle Frontier is still in the early stages of construction, we have no more information at this time. This post will be updated as we receive further updates.
