To be normal is to be perfect. To be perfect is to be inhuman.

Now, for those of you who have come here you might be wondering what exactly this is, a Pokémon Catching Tournament. Well essentially it's just as it sounds, you catch Pokémon and whoever has the best Pokémon wins the tournament. Better description I take it? Okay then, the goal of the tournament is to capture any of the Pokémon available to you, and using the said Pokémon you have caught, defeat all of the others who have caught Pokémon in a similar manner, whoever is the last standing is the winner. Now a few things to point out. Every person gets to choose one of their own Pokémon, be it a level 100 to a level 5 it doesn't matter. The Pokémon you choose will then be taken temporarily out of your team and used throughout the first phase of the tournament. Your wild Pokémon battles will done over a PM, while your battle against others in The Battleground subforum. The first phase of tournament will feature the player encountering random wild Pokémon from a list selected by the host, based upon the theme of the current tournament. The player will have to weaken the wild Pokémon they encounter until it is within capture range, at which point they can capture it, (Pokémon won't gain exp, and you will be supplied with Pokeballs for the tournament). Now you can only have one Pokémon on hand at a time, so if you catch two you'll need to choose between the two which one you would like to keep. One rule to note, the move False Swipe is banned from the tournament, as well as Night Shade, Seismic Toss, Dragon Rage, Sonicboom After the first phase has ended the tournament enters the second phase of the tournament. This part features the player using their newly captured Pokémon to battle against all of the other newly caught Pokémon, until finally somebody has won. The winner gets to keep the Pokémon they caught, as well as receiving either a TM or an item relating to the theme of the tournament. Second place also gets to keep their Pokémon, but does not receive an item or TM. The theme of each tournament is determined by the host and can be anything from blue colored Pokémon to pure grass typed Pokémon, the theme can be anything, and the wild Pokémon available can form a wide variety of capture lists. In order to sign up you must be at Tarroco Island or farther (R2R you may enter with any of your PC Pokémon from the Orange Islands if you wish, the Pokémon you catch in the tournament will be restricted from use outside of the tournament until you have reached the equivalent of Tarroco). If you have any questions, pm them to myself, Dragonfire and I'll happily clarify any issues you may be having. Edited by Dragonfire, Jan 1 2011, 07:26 PM.
