I was thinking about what had happened on Tangelo. The man, Jennifer, and the note. Something was happening, and it wasn't good. Looking at my surroundings, I noticed that I had made it to Route 201, Pyroo standing at my side. Bubbles were floating through the air, coming from the river. The bubbles glistened in the early morning sun. Bird Pokémon took off to find their breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, I'm pretty hungry, and I bet Pyroo is too. Didn't even have dinner. I fumbled through my pre-prepared pack, and noticed something in there that wasn't before. Pulling it our, it revealed a large egg, golden, shining, and two preints like eyes. My parents. It must be. How long had they known that I planned on leaving? They must have put this in here when I was't around. I'll have to thank them about that later. I pulled out a granola bar, and breaking it in half, and gave a part to Pyroo. I noticed that Pyroo burned his to a crisp before eating it. "You know what, Pyroo? I haven't had a chance to nickname you yet. What do you think of Charcoal?" Pyroo shook his head. "No, your right. There already is an item called charcoal. How about just Coal?" Pyroo gave me a look that said, Are you serious? The sarcasm there was easily noticed. "Fine, " I said. I thought for a second, and then asked, "How about Charc?" Pyroo just facepalm'd. "Okay then. If you think you're so high and mighty, I'm naming you Kagutsuchi, after the Japanese god of fire?" Pyroo obviously missed my sarcasm, and nodded his head vigorously. I rolled my eyes and continued nibbling on my granola. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Back on the road, we were traveling again, and unknown to me, we were being watched. The being watching us had no malevolent feelings. Just curiousness. It jumped out at us. "What is that? Go Pyroo!" OOC: Also, Pyroo will be my Follower, not really specified, but inferred. It was a malevolent spirit... it had guarded Route 201 for millenia, brutally killing and eating those who intruded... few lived to tell the tale of it's sighting... in fact, many argued what it even looked like. Some say a goblin with a long pointy nose and the body of a slug, with a spike-covered shell. Some believe it is a terrible dragon with three heads that breathes acid. However, it's true appearance is... ...THIS!!!!!! [4] 20/20 [Keen Eye]Turn back, while you still have a chance! /shot |

I whipped out my Pokedex, and aimed it at the bird Pokémon. Pipun. The Small Wing Pokémon. Pipun live along sandy shores, where their coloring gives them adequate camouflage. Though capable of flight from a relatively early age, they tend to travel mostly by hopping along the sand, and build nests along large dunes. I also checked its moveset, along with the info on other Pokémon here. "I think I'll wait for a Flickadee. What do you think Kagutsuchi? Up for a challenge?" OOC: Also, Pyroo's nickname (Kagutsuchi) wasn't added to my profile. |

Kagutsuchi had already hopped forward and scratched the bird with its "claws." It was apparent the he was eager to gain some well needed experience. The orange bird, Pipun, Tackled back, angered by the attack. It was just curious about us, and ended up being attacked and injured. "Kagutsuchi! What are you doing, Scratching before I even gave a command? No matter now. Continue. Scratch that bird again." |

After I gave the command, Kagutsuchi promptly shot forward to Scratch the Pipun. It managed to nick a wing, sending it spiraling down to the ground. He had a look of triumph. This was doing well to increase his self-esteem. He was already changed from the first time, cowering behind my leg. His eyes were focused, intent on obeying my every whim. The Pipun, on the other hand, was infuriated. Not only was its wing injured, it was starting to look bad. A couple more hits and it knew it would be down for the count. Pipun managed to spin around into a Tackle attack, knocking the little joey back. The battle was getting more intense. Kagu obviously had the lead, but Pipun wasn't too far behind. Kagutsuchi seemed to leap back into action. It had a slight limp from the Tackles, but he would recover. "You can do it. Just give it another Scratch." |

Just one last Scratch!" The Pyroo bounded forward, enthusiastic. He was ready to remove the bird pest once and for all. |

Pipun, evil spirit who had haunted Route 201 for so long, finally returned to the underworld. However, it left 30% EXP for Pyroo. Now what? |

The Pipun, after being attacked so many times, it finally submitted to the Scratch. It fell to the ground, fainted. Kagutsuchi gained some experience from this battle, and was fully recovered. The Pipun, feeling disgraced, limped off into the distance, looking from more cooperative trainers to hang with. Continuing on our way, Kagutsuchi hopped around with glee. He was delighted by his first real battle, out in the open. I sat down, watching him bounce around in circles. The afternoon was nice. Clouds billowed in the air. Grass waivered in the wind. Trees shivered in the winter chill. Things were pretty calm. When night had finally descended, Kagu had already collapsed from exhaustion. It pushed itself too far in its battle, and afterward, he wouldn't stop moving around. He was filled with energy, but now, most of it had deserted him. I quickly made a campfire to light the night, and we sat around it, huddled together in my sleeping bag. I warmed some canned food over the fire, and had beans and bread. Kagutsuchi still roasted his to a crisp before devouring the bread. Later on, we fell asleep, our first day on our minds. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ According to the weather station on the radio, there would be some drizzling and strong winds. It was right about the winds, but not so accurate about the rain. The tropical storm hit us in full force. Rain pour down in torrents. Kagutsuchi was hiding in my raincoat with his head sticking out at m neck. His inner heat warmed our bodies. Pushing forward, we had to get out of this place as soon as we could. The rain and wind blinded us, but we kept trudging uphill in the muddied ground. In the distance there was a tent, clearly another trainer trying to hide from the rain. While trying to climb up the rest of the hill, I slipped, and slid back down quite a distance. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After a few hours, the rain was letting up. The rest of the storm had passed us by, but the winds were still going on. Fortunately, for me, I had a fire type Pokémon, and he dried my clothes quickly. The downside was that the ground was still covered in mud. Slipping again, I righted myself, but not before I crashed into another Pokémon. Edited by Gossamer136, Jan 15 2011, 11:08 AM.

It was pink. No it was white. Actually, it was a combination of both pink, and white. It was the elusive, well, common Flickadee. The one I had been searching for. Pulling out my Pokedex, I scanned the Pokémon, adding it's dex entry. Flickadee. The Tiny Bird Pokémon. FLICKADEE are extremely tiny. Because of this, they almost never leave their nests. Instead, they wait for FLOCKATEAL and FLOQUILA to bring them food. FLICKADEE cannot fly either, due to their size. No wonder it was just hopping along the ground. It was too small to even fly! But, it should learn in time. I was going to catch this Pokémon. Calling out Kagutsuchi, he took a fighting stance. "Ready Kagu?" He gave a slight nod of head. He had a look of determination. "Give it a Scratch!" Edited by Gossamer136, Jan 15 2011, 11:17 AM.

Pyroo gave a Scatch that counted. It was right onto its eye. It hurt so much, in fact, the she screamed in pain. The attack did way more than usual. Raging, she gave a Tackle, dealing less damage, but damage nonetheless. The Flickadee retreated a bit, cowering. She was angry and scared. "Kagutsuchi, not so hard! We don't want it hating us to death. Give it another Scratch!" The kangaroo bounded forward, regretting for aiming for the eye. He was ready to deal another Scratch. |

Th Flickadee was weak. It could barely flutter its wings. Despite its injuries, it was still able to retaliate. Kagutsuchi had a look of pity on its face. I tosses one of my Pokeballs at it, hoping to befriend it and help it heal. OOC: This is probably one of my shortest posts. |

The Flickadee would be a nice addition too my team. "I think I'll name you Nuit, after the goddess of the sky." The bird nodded in agreement. Kagu seemed to like the name as well. We continued on our journey. Walking along the beach, I came across a Pokémon partially submerged in the sand. Laying next to it was an open Pokeball. Something must have happened to this poor gal. I crouched down, and noticed many injuries. Some from the tide, others seemingly from one or more water typed Pokémon. I whipped out my Pokedex and scanned it over. Hierark. The Sand-Sneak Pokémon. HIERARK are extremely hard Pokémon to capture, let alone find. They only live in the driest parts of the deserts, and they don't come above ground very often. Their fins allow them to swim easily through sand, and they have specially designed gills that allow them to draw out the oxygen from in between the sand. "Something bad must have happened, right, Kagutsuchi?" He nodded his head. I picked up the open Pokeball and Put Hierark back inside to heal and recuperate. "I think I'll name you Gaia." Just then, a Pokémon started attacking from the direction of the water (could be a water type, or could just be a flying type over the water, Not saying it has to be water type). OOC: Nicknaming Hierark, Gaia, and nicknaming Flickadee, Nuit. |

"Hmm... Seems like an otter," Kagutsuchi offered. "More like a bear," Nuit sayed. "I think it's a seal," suggested Gaia. "Either way, a water Pokémon is a water Pokémon." I pulled out my Pokedex, and added its info into the system. Telaqua. The Plush Pokémon. They swim around freely throughout the Orange Islands and the region of Zeralis. It protects itself with its psychic abilities. TELAQUA are more peaceful Pokémon, and prefer not to fight. "Its apparent psychic powers could come in handy as well." "Kagutsuchi, you're up. Start off with a Scratch." |

The unanticipated Bubble attack was ravaging. Kagutsuchi doubled with pain, clutching his chest. The Scratch he dealt was in no way comparable to the damage he had just taken. This wouldn't last much longer. Maybe two or three more hits. This Telaqua would make quite an addition to my team. I might even catch the 4 Pokémon here to boost my chances in the future even more. "I'm sorry Kagu. Hang on! Give it another Scratch." |

Kagutsuchi was wincing. One more hit and it would be over for him. On the other hand, Telaqua wasn't doing too well as well. Kagutsuchi can't handle the abuse. The only reasonable decision would be to switch, but Gaia is weak against it as well. "Come back Kagu. You've done well, and you deserve the rest. Let's go Nuit! Use Tackle." |
